Eduardo Cervantes has been employed with SMUD for over 17 years. He started in 2006 as a Customer Service Representative and in 2007 became a valuable asset as a Customer Service Representative in the lobby supporting customers, in person, with his Spanish speaking skills. In 2013 he began a 4 years apprenticeship as a Stationary Engineer, where he simultaneously completed his Associates of Sciences Degree in the Mechanical-Electrical Technology Program.  After completing this program, he became a Stationary Engineer II in 2016. Eduardo has taken the initiative to pursue numerous training opportunity to master controls and Building Automation Systems to meet SMUD’s needs and maximize the efficiency of SMUD’s facility systems. Eduardo is actively involved in training and supporting his colleagues to utilize Siemens Desigo software.

Rachael Collins has been employed with SMUD just over a year. In 2022, Rachael joined the Advanced Commercial Solutions team at SMUD as an Energy Advisor. She works with the Custom Retrofit and Integrated Design Solutions incentive programs to provide support to commercial customers on energy efficiency and electrification projects. Prior to working with SMUD Rachael worked in Research and Development for emerging HVAC technologies. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and her Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at UC Davis.

Jacob Flowers was been working in the HVAC field since he was 15. He worked with residential and commercial customers for 15 years or so then became a self-employed C-20 Contractor for about 7 years. He started with CHP Academy in 2007 as a Stationary Engineer and started with SMUD in 2014 and continues his role as a Stationary Engineer. He enjoys the constant challenges working at SMUD’s East Campus, as well as working in the field fabricating, wrenching, and resolving mechanical issues that come our way.
